We’ve been your go-to outdoor living remodeler for outdoor kitchens, pergolas, patios, fireplaces, fountains, pool areas, and more since 1988. We consistently offer excellence in both conception and construction thanks to our highly qualified designers and craftsmen. They help us keep up with the trends, including outdoor design trends. Here are 7 outdoor living trends for 2023:

1. Smokeless Fire Pits

A fire pit is a great addition to your outdoor living space. But even better than traditional fire pits is a smokeless fire pit, which burns hotter, resulting in less smoke. Some designs have an extra chamber inside them, re-burning the smoke and ash to create almost no smoke to spoil your enjoyment of your outdoor living space.

2. Other Fire Features

People have had a fascination with fire since it was first discovered hundreds of thousands of years ago. You can add more fire features to your outdoor living areas with fire tables, fireplaces, fire bowls, and lanterns, both large and small.

3. Water Features

As fascinated as we are by fires, we’re soothed by the sound of water moving. That’s one reason why beaches are so popular: You can hear the waves as they crash into the sea and sand. In your outdoor living area, you can go simple with a countertop bubbler or add a small pond with a waterfall feature. And of course, there are the obvious choices of a pool or a hot tub. Either would be an amazing addition to your outdoor living space, if you have room for them.

4. Outdoor Kitchens

An outdoor kitchen lets you cook dinner without heating up your house unnecessarily. It’s also a great focal point for your outdoor living space. You can go simple with a built-in grill, or design a full kitchen, complete with sink, oven, grill, and more. Designs can run from Italian to New Mexican, rustic, or completely modern.

5.  Indoor Outdoor Living

When the pandemic hit and people were more confined to their homes, indoor outdoor living became immensely popular. And it provides a good ROI: 31% of real estate agents reported that one top motivator for moving was a lack of outdoor space. Indoor outdoor living combines the best of both worlds. You can entertain larger groups of friends and family since you have additional room ready to accommodate them.

6. An Outdoor Office

With the new work-at-home culture, nobody said you absolutely have to work inside your home. Instead, you can set up an office in your outdoor living space. All you need is a comfortable chair, a table of the appropriate height, and your laptop or tablet, and you’re ready to get down to business. And you can do it all while getting some vitamin D and enjoying your water or fire features.

7. An Outbuilding

Whatever purpose you want it to serve, an outbuilding can be a wonderful addition to your outdoor living space. You can use it as a pool house, man cave, she shed, or granny pod. If you’re not familiar with that last one, it’s a detached mother-in-law suite, so your parents can live with you, but not share a roof.

Whatever features you add to it, make your outdoor living space special with fun décor and furnishings. You can get a little wilder with your color palette outside than you might want to do inside. Go crazy with throw pillows and area rugs. Add multiple water features. Build several fire features. Create your dream outdoor kitchen. Follow or ignore current outdoor design trends. Make it your own, then enjoy it!
